Give Thanks to the Lord, for He is Good: A Thanksgiving Reflection

What is the difference between an atheist and a believer?
I had a friend – now in the presence of Jesus – who was fond of saying,
“The worst moment for the atheist is when he –or she– is really thankful and has nobody to thank.”
I had no idea this was not an original soundbite. He was channeling GK Chesterton who popularized a quote from Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
On the flip side, the people who know the true and living God should be the most grateful!
We have experienced God’s grace and mercy. We are ransomed, healed, restored and fully forgiven!
We can sing and declare a refrain laced throughout the Old Testament,
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.”
Our Thanksgiving holiday creates time and space to pause and celebrate God’s goodness and faithfulness.
I trust that you enjoy this Thanksgiving holiday.
Thanksgiving is part of our life with Jesus. And today, I want you to know how grateful we are for you. Your prayers, generosity and partnership are helping make Jesus known across Canada. Together, we have seen God at work in remarkable ways.
This week and next week our Creative Mission team are in schools offering the message of hope in Jesus, holding evangelistic gigs and proclaiming the gospel at youth gatherings and churches. We will reach thousands of students with God’s Good News and scores of students will encounter Jesus.
Your support and encouragement make this possible. Thank you!
Blessings on you,
Yours for Jesus and the harvest,
Bill
